Brit Lit 4

I've just got so much going on it's hard to keep track of it all, most of it is college stuff too. I've been accepted to the U of M Mankato and really want to got there but I don't know how I'm going to pay for it. Because of some issues I don't know if I'm getting any financial aid from them and mom thinks it'd be a good idea to either go to a community college here at home or take a year off from school. The later is not an option, not for me anyway and I REALLY want to go to Mankato so very badly. At this point I feel like taking loans is my only option to get away from my family and be able to live on my own....

My biggest pet peeve is when people make plans and then skip out on them or keep putting them off til later. I mean when you tell someone you'll do something or go somewhere you should do it and not make excuses! I can't tell you how many times my mother has done this to me. I can see if she had a reason to put something off because she was sick or something but watching the vampire diaries on Netflix (which she can watch at any time mind you) is not a good excuse! It just drives me up the wall....

Lately I have been so busy with school work, the year is almost over and I'm just trying not to go crazy. At this point in the year I barely have any time for myself but I always have time for my family. Just about every day I babysit my baby brother for my mom so she can go run errands or take a nap or something. I love my little brother so much and I help my mom out with him all the time, I just wish she could be a little more considerate of my time and the things I need to do.

Brit Lit

So I've just started some major work in my British Literature class and it's not too bad. I like English as a subject in school quite a bit but not so much as of late. I'm hoping that being exposed to some new things to read and go over in a class will fix that. After looking over the course work though I'm excited for some of the units, especially Hamlet!

How To Deal With Stress

There are plenty of Wrong ways to deal with stress.

Like avoiding it. Which is exactly what I've been doing. And let me tell you, it only leads to more stress in the end. Which royaly sucks.

So here are a few new ways that I've just learned to deal with stress.

Prioritize. Make a list of things that need to be done today, what needs to be done tomorrow, ect. And make sure you don't over work yourself or set your expectations to high. Be realistic. There's nothing better than the feeling of getting everything you needed to do in a day done.

Be good to yourself! Get some sleep. I know we're all tempted to cram but come on. Is that really going to help you tomorrow when you're delusional and can't concentrate on anything? get at least 9 hours if you can. Another thing is to eat healthier and try to get just the tiniest bit of exercise into you're schedule. it'll take a little bit of the edge off.

RELAX. The best way you're body can deal with stress is to take a moment to yourself. Read a book, call a friend, listen to some soothing music. Anything that lets you take a moment to wind down and clear your head.

and finally. Stress in NORMAL. Everyone goes through it, you're not alone. you just need to learn what level of stress is healthy for you. once you have that down you're good to go. Talk to people, odds are that they might have a tip or two that'll help you out.

Oh the joys of teething

Today marks the one week anniversary of my little baby brothers first tooth and boy has it been a week. Very little sleep has spread to everyone in the house and if the little guy doesn't calm down soon I'm afraid we'll all be at each other's throats by dinner.
